Heidi Rowlands, school girl Posted on November 5, 2023 by planirl

Heidi Rowlands, school girl

Heidi Rowlands is seven. She was born on Halloween in London, in 2005. She now lives in Wexford with her parents, her brother Finn and Betty the dog. Her interests include Amur leopards, movies, fashion, going to the cinema with her auntie and reading books. Her favourite books are The Hobbit, The Witches and the Scooby Doo Solve it yourself mysteries.

Her role models are her family and Daphne and Velma from Scooby Doo because they can solve mysteries and are smart. She wanted to write this blog because of what happened to the little girl in the Swat Valley in Pakistan and to show to other girls that it is very important to have an education.

Because I am a girl I hope…that the people who have decided that girls don’t need an education will change their minds and girls will be allowed to go school.

Because I am a girl I like…Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, football and fun.

Because I am a girl I dislike…the people who chop down trees in the forests where Amur leopards live.

Because I am a girl I believe…that education is serious but also should be fun.

Because I am a girl I wonder…if my friend in school and I will still be friends when we grow up.

Because I am a girl I dream…that I can fly.

Because I am a girl I ask…other people how they’re doing.

Because I am a girl I remember…when my little brother was born, I was holding him and looking into his eyes.

Because I am a girl I feel…sensitive to how other people feel.

Because I am a girl I celebrate…my birthdays.

  • Because I am a Girl...

I can vote and be myself and be successful. If you educate a man you educate a man if you educate a woman you educate a generation.

  • Because I am a Girl...

all boys and men appear to be more important, know more, and have to have needs sorted, first- food, washing, the basics - loo cleaning, etc. We must stop doing it, full stop. I bet Orla Leyden still does all her family housework (no offence at all - just making a point) x
