Because I am a Girl I ask… others to see what I can do, not what they think I can or should do.

Because I am a Girl I believe… that a positive outlook is something to be treasured.

Because I am a Girl I hope… that I will continue to be happy in my personal and work life.

Because I am a Girl I wonder… how some people can be cruel and rude to others on purpose.

Because I am a Girl I dream… of sunshine and smiles.

Because I am a Girl I remember… to remind my husband of the important things that he normally forgets.

Because I am a Girl I like… to see other women succeed and pave the way for others to do the same.

Because I am a Girl I dislike… dishonesty and the manipulation of others.

Because I am a Girl I feel… fortunate to live in a country where I am encouraged to reach for the stars and be all I want to be.

Because I am a Girl I… try to remember that bad days exist to make the good days even better.

  • Because I am a Girl...

I have a much higher chance of making headline news - as a victim of rape, assault or murder. But because I am a girl I have the innate strength to carry on challenging the threats to my freedom.

  • Because I am a Girl...

I rise to the challenge, and do the unexpected. I raise my voice so that I can always be heard. I push myself even when the little voices in my head are saying, sure you dont belong here, who do you think you are. I struggle on and dont alllow society to to label or box me because of the sex I am, the colour of my skin, my sexuality, my spiritual beliefs. I am, and I will.
